Hi there ... this is Jack Armstrong, the owner of RPM! Productions.
We produce motorsporting and entertainment events throughout Idaho and soon into Oregon. Our biggest is Northwest Motorfest, Idaho's Largest Car Show.

As it has been since 'Motorfest started in 2003, we've had to fight rumors.
Some small in size and some very large and damaging ones. So we've
decided to get proactive and take on these rumors head on.

If you hear anything at all about events we produce,
please call 323 1808 or email jack@rpmprod.com and get the
other side of the story. It's very easy to "throw us under the bus" with fabricated
stories and sometimes vicious lies that have absolutely no foundation.
Some of these falsehoods thrown at us have caused us much time and
energy to clear our name and Northwest Motorfest
.

It just amazes us how the Armstrong family and events produced by RPM! Productions
consume some peoples lives ... it eats away at them like a cancer!!

We just keep on keeping on .......
NEW ONE!!! November 5, 2011
RUMOR: Northwest Motorfest is closing down and there
WILL NOT be a 10th Anniversary at the fairgrounds!!!!!!!

ANSWER: I was wondering how long it be until somebody started spreading the ultimate rumor.
A B S O L U T E L Y   N O T ! ! ! ! We are set for the 10th anniversary July 13, 14 and 15. Mass mailing goes out the end of February as we have done for 9 years. We will announce our line-up at that time and with it being the 10th anniversary, we'll have some added extras that will be a pleasant surprise.

Now, part 2 of this rumor. THIS TIME, I KNOW WHERE IT CAME FROM!!! It was told to me by a very well respected person in the Northwest who is VERY WELL CONNECTED in the car show industry. He was told of the demise of 'Motorfest by a person from the Treasure Valley. I will be dealing with this issue and find out ... WHY!!!

RUMOR: My wife and I and RPM! Productions has single-handedly pissed-off the entire car trailer builders and sellers in the Treasure Valley because of the trailer we bought to haul around the Make-A-Wish car.

ANSWER: We DID NOT buy a new trailer, a used trailer or any trailer of any kind! Norman and Marilyn Thorndyke, the raffle car project managers, bought a car trailer in May for their personal use and will occasionally use it to haul the raffle car to shows out of town. IT'S A PERSONAL TRAILER FOR PITTY SAKES ... why is that a concern of anybodys??? If you have a problem with that, send me an email and I'll forward it to Norman and Marilyn. If they think it deserves a response then you'll get a answer. Again, my email is jack@rpmprod.com

RUMOR: RPM! Productions is going to take over the Emmett Car Show and Cruise, shut it down so they have less 'Motorfest competition.

ANSWER: I'm laughing as I type this ... HOW STUPID IS THAT?? Emmett is a GREAT EVENT! They are of no competition to 'Motorfest because they are the weekend after us. In fact, they pass out show info at our show and we set up a booth at their show. The promoters do a great job! Now, competition would be a promoter who puts a show on the same day of an existing show. That's just common courtesy not to do that.

RUMOR: Northwest Motorfest registration is going up to $60 next year.

ANSWER
: Not even!! It will stay at the price of $40 up to two weeks before the show at which time it goes to $50. This is the same price scale we've used for 6 years!

RUMOR: 2011 Best of Show as selected by Kenny's Rod Shop was a car built by Kenny's.

ANSWER: REALLY??? Think about that. What does that do for the reputation of Kenny's and 'Motorfest?
Car was built by Allen Hughes from Redmond, Washington. He doesn't even know of Kenny's Rod Shop. The Best of Show was parked near Kenny's display.

RUMOR: Hydraulic hoppers are the featured vehicle at next year's 'Motorfest

ANSWER: They were going to be a featured event which is a whole lot different than a
featured vehicle but RPM! Productions has removed them from the schedule for next year or any other year in the future.

RUMOR: Only people who are friends of the promoter are allowed to cruise on Saturday night

ANSWER: Like to know how that one got started. ABSOLUTELY NOT. If you are a paid participant at 'Motorfest, you get to cruise .... whether we like you or not!!!

RUMOR: RPM! Productions makes over $200,000 every year from 'Motorfest

ANSWER: How I wish that was true ... I don't even know how to answer that one!!
Yes, this is a "for profit" business. As of now, we are one of the most successful
"non-profit" businesses in Idaho.

RUMOR: The Capital City Cruise is moving to Nampa because the City of Boise doesn't want to deal with it anymore

ANSWER: See what I mean about stopping rumors!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! The City of Boise  loves it!! Look what it does for the restaurants and the various stores downtown.

RUMOR: The Armstrong family (owners of RPM! Productions) have been stealing money from Make-A-Wish Foundation to pay for Caribbean Cruises.

ANSWER: That's a good one huh?? If it's common knowledge that we are stealing money ... then why are we still selling raffle tickets and why are we not in jail? Yes, we take a Caribbean Cruise every year because we
co-produce the Oldies Caribbean Cruise with Harmon Travel and Concerts at Sea and have for 19 years! You wouldn't believe the hoops we have to jump through to have the raffle car program. We have to answer to the Idaho Lottery Commission and account for EVERY $5 ticket that has been sold ... EVERY ONE OF THEM! That's why we don't do graduated ticket pricing. To date, we have raised $195,825. At $5 a ticket, that's 39,165 tickets that have been sold.  To verify that this is not a lie, like some want you to believe, call Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho at 345 9474 and ask for Torene. Oh no, I guess you can't do that ... why??? Because Make-A-Wish is a partner of ours in stealing the money and are helping us cover it up!!! See how stupid this is? After 7 years of this initial nasty rumor, we still fight this one to this very day.

RUMOR: Father's Day Car Show is for Jack's friends only

ANSWER: We park 160 vehicles. We send out nearly 1,300 registration forms at the end of February. The first 160 returned get an invitation to attend the show. Once we are sold out, we create a waiting list. If you procrastinate and don't send in your registration form, you aren't invited to the show. It has NOTHING to do with friendship ... PERIOD!! Get your registration form sent in a timely matter and you'll make the show. It's a simple as that.

RUMOR: My wife and I are getting a divorce because of the pressure caused by 'Motorfest

ANSWER: We just celebrated our 24th anniversary at the end of June. NO, NO, NO and again NO!!! Well, then again as I think about it, maybe she doesn't want to be married to a guy that steals from Make-A-Wish, allows Best of Show to be selected by the builder, raises registration by 25% and only allows his friends to be a part of the party. I guess if I get kicked out, I'll have a lot of options were I can stay!!!

Here's some of the rumors
